Mackie Control (non-pro) and other HW

Hi,

Does Vegas work with the older Mackie Universal Control? I'm able to buy that one for cheaper.
Speaking of hardware control surfaces, what are the ones people use here?
Could you reply with the product you use and your experience?

I have three Mackie Universal Controls, in various rooms. They work beautifully. Been using them for years with Vegas.
