The 6306 is mostly ok. It does have one annoying "feature". The frequency response is spec’d with the trimmer set at half way. When the trimmer is all the way up there is a measured low frequency loss of > 20db at 20hz. It is flat when the trimmer is below about the 3 o’clock position. Sonically it’s fine. It is made of steel and is heavier than it looks.
For $100 I bought it as an electronic Swiss army knife to take to sites (direct box, mic pre., SMAART front end, headphone amplifier, mixer, balance to unbalanced converter etc.) and for that it’s ok once you know it’s limits.
I own one of these -- and it works like a charm. It is accompanied with good literature and a wall wart that has an extension plug.
The unith has sturdy little knobs, which by the way are safer than sliders. Furthermore they are sealed from the environment to prevent any harmdfull particulates from depositing.
It sounds great -- the shelving EQ's sound good. The connections are polished with nickel plating so -- there is good contact conductance.
I recommend it as nice table top unit with fair features and for $100.00 coupled with the right sound card - it works very well.
