Magic Bullet Looks in Vegas Movie Studio 17

I installed Magic Bullet Looks 4 on a system with Vegas Movie Studio 17. The plugin did not appear on the list of effects. The OFX folder for Looks did not exist in the Movie Studio OFX plugin folder, so I manually copied it there. After that it worked partially, but I couldn't open the preset "Looks" in Magic Bullet Looks. Everything used to work fine in Vegas Movie Studio 14. Has anyone figured out a way to get it to work correctly in version 17?

I have Magic Bullet Looks that came with Movie Studio 12. They have appeared and worked with every subsequent MS version including 17 Platinum. I assume you are using 17 Platinum, not the basic version?

I don't know if it makes any difference but MB was on my system when I installed MS17 not vice versa.

I find my Looks are actually in Program Files (x86)\LooksBuilder

EricLNZ's post helped me find the solution. Magic Bullet Looks 4 does work with MS17, the installer just places files in the wrong folders. Here is the procedure for getting this to work:

1. Install Vegas Movie Studio 17
2. Install Magic Bullet Looks 4
3. Locate the “com.redgiant.magicbullet.looks.zip” file and extract it.
4. Copy the “MagicBulletLooks.ofx.bundle” folder to “ C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins”.
5. From the “presets” folder copy the “Looksbuilder” folder to “C:\Program Files\Looksbuilder” and “C:\Program Files (x86)\LooksBuilder”.
