Magix :Please, Please, on my hands and knees..

Oh pretty please with a cherry on top, give us a velocity envelope that does more than 300%....5,000% would be really nice!!

I lose about 1 hour each day with workarounds and other times I just switch to Final Cut. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease consider this request....did I say pleeeeeease?

Thank you

I use ProDad ReSpeedr. Works fine.

envelope velocity = 300 + right click properties "PLAYBACK RATE = 4000"  or just Envelope 300 and nest the proyect as much as you need.

I'd love this too without the workarounds!

Julius_ wrote on 8/23/2016, 5:00 PM

nolteman, the workaround is not good....imagine a clip of 15 seconds of skateboarding...I want normal speed, then 5000% , then 30% in air, then back to normal speed..all this is in one clip. Your workaround would put the whole clip at 4000...I want to use the velocity "envelopes" to control when it's fast or slow.

Julius you know that you can restore your old account right?

ok then try, put your mouse on the corner of the clip and hit  control then click and drag each section of the clip, that way you will be able to control the speed of each section

nolteman wrote on 8/23/2016, 5:09 PM

just like this example,  just speed up the section, and then cut and slowdown the next section etc.. hope that helps

Julius_ wrote on 8/23/2016, 5:18 PM

still a pain..I have to trial and error it to guess the speed, and then have to do it for all sections..and if I alter the speed, I have to make the changes to the other sections too...meh :)  Thanks for the suggestions!

I think it's easier to change it in the vegas code:

  Let .envelope_Velocity = 5000;

😊

VMP: Ok thanks, I just migrated my profile.

nolteman. I saw the clip but as he mentions at 2:00 that if you want faster, do a "save as" and re-import, and he was only at 1000%. really appreciate the help, but if you want 5000, it gets very messy in my vegas timeline.

nolteman wrote on 8/23/2016, 5:26 PM

Ok, Julius other solution could be : export an EDL file From vegas then Open it into Premiere speed up One clip and copy and paste to all the other clips.

I'm completely with Julius_ here. I suppose there has to be a limit on the velocity envelope somewhere below infnity, but 3x just seems awfully low. The scrubbing tool used to be limited from -4x to +4x, now it's -20x to +20x. 20 still seems low to me.

Now, i understand that a lower limit may make the use of the tool scale better. Imagine if velocity envelopes could go to 1,000,000%. Moving the envelope line up one pixel on the timeline might change your velocity from 100% to 20,000%, with no finer steps inbetween. You'd have to pretty much always use the keyboard to type in what you wanted. True, 1,000,000 may seem an extreme value, but then 20x might seem excessive to some while way too low to others. So, i think the best solution would be to allow each user to choose their own personal maximum setting under options/preferences. There is precedent for this as there is a preference setting for the max value for the scrub control. It's limited to High, Medium, or Low. Wouldn't it be far better to be able to type in "let my max scrub value be 40", and in the same way let me type in what i want my max velocity to be.

I also have felt constrained by the 300% limit.  Work arounds are a PITA and limited in and of themselves.

nolteman wrote on 8/29/2016, 12:57 PM

I still thinking that the solution here is Nesting the whole project into a new timeline and fix that workarounds with envelope or the playbackrate or both.
