From VP17, you go to File>Render As, select for MPEG2 and choose one of DVD template (depends on your project..., but I assume DVD PAL/NTSC Widescreen) for video stream.

Continue also with AC3 - Stereo - as a separate for audio stream.

 

Now in DVD Architect, import these medias.

I got this error message come up? Where or how do I get the plug in and the features unlocked?

Ok, alternatively render it to WAV, then use DVD Architect to convert it.

Or, use 3rd party converter to transcode to AC3.

for this case on rendering to MPEG2 DVD Architect template, by default not includes audio...

If you want to find out, go to Render As>MPEG2, choose any DVD Architect template>Customize Template> choose Audio Tab.

Firstly I`d like to say a big thanks to everyone for all your comments I really appreciate your help. 😃

In case I haven`t explained it clear enough, I am by far an expert with Vegas or the Architect, I`m an mechanic & MOT Tester by trade, and I have created a website for my martial arts club I teach. (which I self taught which is pretty much the same as me on Vegas / Architect)

I`m sure the comments you guys have made is giving me the answers somewhere but I do not quite understand the terminology / explanations which have been said. Is there anyway someone could break it down for me in simply terms so I can understand what I have to do to be able to send my project from Vegas to Architect so I can create the menu for my DVD.

In case I haven`t mentioned here`s what I`ve done tried so far and failed miserably. 😒

Created project in Vegas and saved my project (After learning I had to convert the clips from the original MOD files) due to Vegas not reading the audio along with the video and only displayed / played the video with no audio.

After saving the project in Vegas I Rendered the project selected (Main Concept MPEG-2) & Then I`m sure I selected (DVD Architect PAL Widescreen) Something like that? 😕

Waited for the project to finish rendering

Found The saved Render on my PC and sent to Architect

Created the Menu, buttons, music titles etc

Checked everything was working all ok

Checked the actual DVD (Saved render) it played fine but No Audio alongside the video (Again).

Since then I have come on here asking for help, but maybe I didn`t explain it well enough as to what I want to do or have tried to do? Or maybe it`s where I`m not experienced enough with Vegas / Architect someone has already given me the answer but I`m just not understanding the terminology / explanations?

(I`ve been back at work for the last few days but I`m going to be of work from tomorrow afternoon for a couple of days and I`m hoping to get this done as I don`t get much time of work) Please can someone help me out with this issue now that I think I have explained it more clearer what I`m trying to do and with what I have done so far. Thanks in advance.

First, the AC-3 codec is having issues, with my guess being that magix did not re-new the license to have it activate for people again due to DVD architect 7 sadly being phased out. You may still be able to use it if you activated your Vegas AC-3 codec a while ago, though. If that's the case render to AC-3 and ignore 2, 3 and 5 below, although doing 2, 3 and 5 will allow you to render to AC-3 with higher than 192Kb/s even if you can use AC-3 in Vegas. For some reason DVDA7 allows you to render AC-3 up to about 640Kb/s while Vegas limits you to 192Kb/s.

Here's what you need to do, with the lack of AC-3 in vegas: (note that it still works in DVD architect 7)

(Assuming you are rendering for DVD. If you are rendering for Blu ray, please use AVC and not Mpeg-2 for video, as it's file size and quality is far superior. With DVD you are limited to Mpeg-2. Ac-3 and PCM audio can be used for both with AC-3 being superior.)

1. First, know that when rendering DVD or Blu ray video and audio, Vegas requires you render the video and audio separately, with little exceptions. This is why you only had video and no audio. You did not send the audio to DVD architect.

2. Since you can't use AC-3 and PCM is so big, go ahead and render to PCM or Wav, with a separate render for audio. Render with your DVD mpeg 2 preset for the video and then render the audio separately to Wav or Sony Wave PCM. There's 2 renders you have to do.

3. In DVD architect go to your project settings in File > Properties and change the audio to AC-3 and choose a bit rate: I recommend a minimum of 192Kb/s and a maximum of 320Kb/s.

4. Keep both renders of the audio and video in the same folder or directory with the same file name but keep the file extensions different. This is not really required but DVD architect will automatically detect the audio and import it into your DVDA project when you import the video. If this does not happen double click your video in DVD architect and look at the time line. If there's nothing there for audio right click the audio part below the video on the timeline and go to "set audio". You can then choose the audio file you separately rendered and it will then appear in the video when you render the disc.

5. When DVDA7 says you must recompress the audio when you go to burn/create ISO, let it do it and it will render AC-3 at the project settings.
