Making a DVD for people in Brazil

Ok, so I shoot a show that has 10 bands from all around the world. I know to expect that US folks will want NTSC DVD's, and those from Europe will need PAL. Fine, no problem, it's all supported within Vegas.

What system does Brazil use? Well, searching through various web engines gives me a few different answers: NTSC, PAL, and something called PAL-M. Well, an Atari-related site finally spelled it out for me.... PAL-M is essentially NTSC frame rate and resolution, with a PAL color palette. Does this make sense? It was suggested that this is only used in Brazil.

So... what should I use for my settings in Vegas when I want to render my output? Any thoughts or suggestions would definitely be appreciated...

Thanks

what kind of bands? from where in the world?

Well, actually, it's a subgenre known as progressive metal. For everyone outside of this type of music, just pretend it's Iron Maiden/Rush type stuff.

Of course, the question still remains... what exactly do you produce for people in Brazil (for DVD's)? I'm under time pressure to get a first copy in the band's hands tonight, so I'm just running with NTSC, but if they tell me it doesn't work as expected when they get back home, I'm not sure yet how to correct for that.

Thanks,
Chrisf

Ok, not sure anyone cares at this point, but maybe just file this away for future info. I talked to one of the guitarists from the band and he said NTSC should be fine. So... PAL-M = NTSC (?) Whatever, I guess. :^)

For the differences in PAL flavours check here.

Most PAL players can play full or pseudo NTSC so that should be OK.
