I want to zoom text and i was able to do pan and zoom. But after zoom, i need to draw square around the text (so square will start and continue until it makes full square) - Any idea how to do that ? Thanks in advance
I find that I can do parts of these tasks in Photoshop quicker and easier. This is Howie Duit.
It may be possible to use masking or some other method in Vegas Pro to do this, but I have a hammer sitting there all the time, so everything looks like a nail to me.
Unfortunately Vegas doesn't have the tools on board to generate such graphics directly, always a workaround is needed. That's the reason that I use for such projects more frequently my other NLE Powerdirector, where generating such graphical objects is just peanuts. (small example: )

I'm not surprised you didn't follow my Photoshop method. Here is a demo customized for use of the Rectangle drawing tool. Once generated in Vegas Pro, I also moved all the Text work into a layered .PSD (which Vegas handles just fine).
I now see how you could do this completely within Vegas Pro using Titler, Track Motion, VIdeo FX Border, and Clock Wipe transition. If I get the time, I'll show you how.
@xberk your solution by deformation of the applied borderfx doesn't look nice. The line width should be equal for the whole square/rectangle.
Unfortunately the borderfx has a bug, existing already since GPU support has been introduced into Vegas. Disabling GPU support gives Borderfx the ability to border objects which doesn't have the project aspect ratio.
I've been doing penance for not changing my tools or exploiting all the possibilities within Vegas Pro. The problems that just using Photoshop overcomes so easily, but require more effort within Vegas Pro follow:
1) Inconsistent generation and handling of borders with different fX (Media, Track, Event). I overcame this problem by taking a circular route, applying the Border fX to the Text track, then making everything invisible except for the border long enough for me to Save Snapshot to File within Vegas Pro. This step is key for someone who doesn't have or doesn't know how to use a photo editor.
2) Maintaining pixel aspect ratio when the graphic is used in projects of different dimensions was a challenge that I had to overcome. I did this by using the Pan/Crop tool to crop to the dimensions of the graphic and then setting the Project Properties to those dimensions. (Good Housekeeping Tip: Don't use non-integer dimensions.)
3) Reusing Assets. Building self-contained nested project(s) solves that problem.
I'll be editing this entry as files upload and I have more points to share.
Create Text Box and Crop
Create Border and Save as Separate File
Expose Text, Animate, Insert into Master

This is a thought experiment for me. I'll continue to use Photoshop. I also plan to take August off.

This was probably the most complicated workaround possible to generate a simple squared box around a text with Vegas. I understand you need to take a month off now....😂

I did follow as a solution, but that LAG ruin a bit compailation, Thanks a lot for the effort and replay. Appreciated
