Making Use of the Pre-renders for MPG?

OKies dokies . ..

I have just done some pre-renders to "see" how things look . .. rather pleased! - Now onto DVD prepare . . It would appear that the Prepare isn;t making use of the Pre-renders and doing a s-l-o-w mpeg out of the already prerender.

Is this how Vegas should work? Or have i missed another trick today?

Were the pre-renders MPEG? I don't know that Vegas plays well with that. And if they weren't, then re-encoding at a minimum would be required anyway.

So, except that your rendering might benefit from transitions and effects already having been pre-rendered, the MPEG encoding still has to be performed. That's not a speedy process.
