Manage projects

This may sound trivial but is causing me a lot of angst! In Movie Studio when setting up a new project, there was a box to tick which said "Manage Projects ...". Ticking the box meant that all files and renders were filed in the same place. I would like to be able to do this with Vegas Pro 12. Is there an easy way to do this?

I don't have 12, but in every single version of Vegas i've ever used the process is pretty simple even without that function.

Create a new folder when you start a project. Put everything in that folder. Done.

Vegas Pro is different than Movie Studio in this regard since there is no manage project folders option.

In Vegas Pro renders default to the last folder you used in "Render As". I prefer this. Having one output folder.

Prerenders and recordings folders are fixed by global preference and you would have to manually change per new project if you wanted a unique folder per project. I don;t use those features so it has not bothered me. I can see where you would want a unique location for a project. You can do it, but it is not automatic like it can be in MS12.

Hi. If I understand you correctly, it is quite simple.

Select File > Save As, then choose or create the folder where you want the project file together with all the media files to be saved. Give your project a name, then look at the bottom left corner of the window and you will see a Tick Box with the words "Copy Media with Project". Just "Tick" the box and the project file together with all the media files will be saved in the same folder. Hope this helps you? Regards Ken
