I have a 1hr 40min black and white mono video that has been rendered to MPG by Vegas to a file size of 4.7G. How can I render this to a smaller size or how can I use DVD Architect to create a DVD sized file to burn?
Are bitrates selectable at any number or must they be a variable based on the originasl number, 6,000,000 in my case? Also, does it make any difference if it is reduced in Vegas or in DVDA?
Depends. If you're going to make a DVD, and its sizeable, over an hour or several vids over a hour you may be better off rendering as DV AVI. That way once you're done with building your chapters and making menu pages in DVD-A and its a little large you can let it compress to MPEG-2 and you'll avoid having the MPEG-2 compressed twice which is generally a no-no.
You can set the bitrates from the custom tab in Vegas once you bring the render as window up. So too from DVD-A once you do the optomize.
