Marker bug in Vegas 4c??

I am reviewing a 45 min clip on the time line and want to drop rough in and out markers using the "m" key as I play back in real time. I am sure I used to do this in Vegas 3...but seems like in Vegas 4 I have to stop the playback...,move the cursor to where I want the marker and them press the "m" key with the cursor stopped.
I am sure I did this in Vegas 3 with no problem because I remember in one project, marking down beats in an audio track to synchronize video cuts in a similar fashion.
ANybody had a similar problem? Or is it just me?

It works OK for me. Just tired. In playing a small section I was able to drop in 8 markers in the space of about 3 seconds, far more than you'd ever need I would think. I would suggest closing down and trying again. It still is a "magic" cure for fixing all kinds of weird, how come it done this kind of things that go bump in the night with all manner of Windows software.

....and if that doesn't work...a full re-boot of the PC I would imagine...!:-)

just last night I was marking up a project like crazy while playing it on the timeline, everytime I pressed 'm' it put a marker in for me. So seems to work fine.

One thing I wanted to add that may be obvious to others but wasn't to me until I did it, was I zoomed in on the timeline, or actually I think I resized the video layer to be a little taller thus making the video preview larger and it messed up *all* my markers.

That was a bad move. Is there a setting to make the markers automatically adjust when you make such adjustments to the timeline? If not I guess you can never mess with your timeline after you set markers.. ;\

I don't quite understand . . . I've messed with my T/L and the markers stay in place.

yea, weird, I just retired my problem in the last post because you said it works fine, I resized the T/L and zoomed and everything and markers are indeed in tact.

Interesting, maybe I did something differently in that other project. I guess disregard my last post. Sorry.

The only thing I've noticed is if you have zoomed in several times on the timeline then write a lengthy marker when you zoom out, of course you get what you'd expect the markers, if close enough to one another will overlap. So the text may be hard or impossible to read when viewed at normal zoom, until you zoom in again. Still it doesn't move the marker itself... or shouldn't. I can only speak for my PC's.

Gremlins tend to come out more towards the end of the month.

Well...the PC re-boot seems to have fixed my problem! Works fine now!

By the way....is there a way to "delete all markers"? I have loads of them from going through and marking in/out points and now I want to put markers in for chapter points for DVDA....do I have to go to every single one and delete individually??

Page 79 in the manual:

Deleting all markers and regions
1. Right-click the marker bar.
2. From the shortcut menu, choose Markers/Regions, and choose Delete All from the submenu.
