marker + region at same spot: how to select?

If a marker and region tag is in the same spot how do you select the other? Ex: I am reviewing video in Trimmer and I marker a spot and then go back and make region, I then try and delete the marker but can not get ahold of it (because the region tag always is getting selected being on top).

Not sure I follow what's happening.

Are you trying to transfer a selection from the Trimmer to the Timeline? If so, why not use I and O to identify the in and out points of your selection and then press A to transfer that selection to the Timeline?
