Markers and inserting audio

Hi, I have a tune that I would like to add a snare drum track to. What I would like to be able to do is the following:

1. I have added markers where the snare track would go and would like to have the snare track be put into all of those markers.

2. Or Is there a way to play the track and paste the snare audio track
as I listen to the tune be clicking a short cut key? I know that I can do this with markers by pushing the M key while the track is playing.

Any help would be great as it will take more than an hour to click the marker and paste the audio one snare hit at a time.

Thanks,
Ed

If your tempo is steady, you don't need markers. Just use the grid.
And don't forget to turn off quantize to frames!

We did not use a click so the markers may be the best option any thoughts?

I have to guess you're trying to use a single snare sample and insert it everywhere you have a marker?
Geez.
Anyway, insert a measure's worth of snare hits. High light all of them, then copy/paste. Then highlight the new "all" and copy/paste. And again. Etc. Getting enough samples on the timeline won't take much time.
If a marker is placed anywhere other than (for example) on the 2 or 4, slide the nearest sample into place.

(Placing individual samples on the timeline is not the way to do this job, but you asked.)

As crazy as it may sound I have done it once on a track. I did the kick, snare, toms and crash. it took awhile to say the least. But the drum sound that I paid about $3000.00 for along with the track we recorded was much worth the effort. I was just looking for a quicker way to make it happen. I was hoping there was a way to inerst the track with a shortcut key like you can do with the markers as the tune plays. Thanks again

This sounds like it'd be easy enough to write a script to do.
Try asking over in the scripting forum.
