Place the clip on the timeline ABOVE the movie clip, go into VIDEO FX and choose
CHROMA KEYER and insert it into the JPEG. Set the COLOUR in the CHROMA KEYER's
properties to BLACK.

This should work.

HEre are two options:

a) Make your mask in photoshop be transparent where you want video to show through (instead of black & white, make it transparent & white)... then all you have to do is import the .psd file, and place it above other tracks... the other tracks will show through the transparent area.

b) Or, keep your mask as it is (black and white), and do like a), but choose "Screen" as the compositing mode for the mask track (little button on the right side of the track header thing). About "screen", the help file says "Multiplies the inverse of the overlay color values with the background color values" ... um ok... it seems to work for me anyway.
