Master Fader with External Control Surface Vegas Pro 16.

I'm trying to use a generic CC # to control my master fader. I use MIDI learn. It sets default max to 127 but the fader only moves slightly. The only way I can get it to work is to change max to 10 and then scale my controller to send 0-10 instead of 0-127.

Doesn't even work when scaled to 25. So now I get full range of motion but very poor granularity.

I also tried programming pitch pend with standard granularity of 16383 and it didn't work. O'm on Evaluation copy of Vegas Pro 16.

The main reason I'm trying it is because it said I could use external MIDI controllers but as you see I'm having limited success.

What controller are you using? I have used the Korg Nanokontrol with no problem.

I'm using a brand X (Worlde Easycontrol9 but I can put out about any MIDI message I want using Bome MIDI Translator Pro, software on my PC . Maybe I'll have to program it for MCU like the Korg NanoKontrol uses, however I was hoping to use this controller with my own mapping instead.

Maybe I can look at the MCU control map and see how the are making it work.

I programmed my controller to send out MCU fader messages (pitch bend) but it doesn't seem to like them either.

Just upgraded from Movie Studio to Vegas Pro, primarily to get external control. Frustratingly I immediately stumbled on this same problem, the master fader hardly moves most of the time, occasionally it will jump a bit. There is some minor movement at the very top of the CC range (close to 127). I've tried using a Midi Fighter Twister, AKAI MPD218 and an AKAI MPK mini II, all with the same result. Buttons seem to work but knobs not so much. MIDI messages look OK according to a MIDI monitor.

I can also not make anything work with my Faderport 8, but that is likely another problem.

My Faderport 8 doesnt work also, despite all the literature stating it should.

I posted awhile back about this as well with no solutions.

I've created a support request with MAGIX, hopefully there is a solution. 🙏

Tried CCs from a Behringer X-Touch One and it actually worked briefly but then it was the same all over again - moving a physical knob or fader results in only a minor and random movement in VP. Very frustrating as I *really* would like to use my controllers. 😒
