No, seriously I think these two ex spurts might be onto something and there could be a few dollars in it too.

Seems we can solve buss routing issues using a plug in to sweeten the mix. Amazing concept, I'd apply for a patent on that one real quick.

Ummm...excuse me, but...

Has anyone had experience with AAMS?

hehehe

Hmmmm. Too cold out to drag myself outside to see if the moon's full. :?P

Probably never guess, but folks sometimes get too fond in their own opinions, whether they concern software or their place atop the universe [ahem, Ravens :?P]

In my experience, & I'm an ol'fart using the net before there was a web, a community muddles through, occasionally providing help when someone needs it, other times making for a bit of conversation and debate. People disagree, sometimes get hot, & trollers (insecure little buggers that they are) try to get everyone ticked off cause like a toddler pushing mommy's buttons, sometimes they can.

Works 'cause I've never known anyone, least in the States, had a gun to their head forcing them to read anything.

Which is all just as polite and nice a way as I can say that anyone feeling [ahem, farss ;?P] that their excrement doesn't have an odor might do well to read up on some old tales 'bout those who've fallen in love with their mirrors.

Needless to say, get PO'd at me or not -- really don't care -- just felt the need for a brief Public Service bit.

Well I'd be the last one to claim that my excement doesn't have an odour!

However I'm having difficulty as to what you might be hinting at. If I've managed to do or say anything that has in anyway offended anyone then I'm more than willing to both apologise profoundly and cease and desist from whatever it is that I've done in the past.

And yes, I'm pretty new to this forum business, this was the first forum I joined and posted in so maybe I've missed out on some of the unwritten rules.

Until I do know how I've trangressed then it's kind of hard to know what to do or say to make amends.

Yours most sincerely,
Bob.

Sorry Bob,
Might partly be me suffering here with the plague as I OD on cold meds. :-)

At any rate I believe that there's newcomers lurking about & I'm afraid of scaring them off given the recent Sony price cuts and emphasis on lower end products. Arguing egos is bad enough [I'd hoped I'd stopped that by just re-stating both sides]. But felt that to someone who didn't know better, you & Bill teasing might sound like schoolyard bullies, & someone might be too scared of ridicule to ever ask a question.

I'm not much good at subtle, so I just wanted to kind of nudge folks to give it a rest -- again apologies, as I hoped I was oblique enough that no one would take offense.

I don't think there's need to get into an argument over this!!

Enjoy the company, the idle banter, and the things we can teach eachother... cause life is too short for the other stuff.

Sorry to highjack your thread there Michael!

I am NOT familiar with AAMS, but I did have a quick look at the website... It does look kind of interesting I must admit and it does come with a trial ( I don't do squat without a trial anymore... Avid liquid 7 left a real bitter taste in my mouth). I would say if it turns your crank, then the heck with what we think.... go for it.

I will say though it did bother me a bit that a:) it's not really a mainstream program and b:) they did not mention the price until you were right up on paypal's doorstep and the price was ONLY mentioned in EURO's (50 of them). I only mention that because I have been stung once using the credit card on an over-seas transaction.

Fair enough!
And yes watch those cold meds, I can recall the odd unplanned trip from too many of those.

I can only offer an opinion, I've read through most of the documentation and you have get an idea of what it's targetted at first.

Basically the concept it to analyse an existing recording, the Eq and the dynamics and apply the same to another recording, i.e. mastering made simple.

I think I've seen other such efforts, might have been in iZotopes Eq.
It can probably work quite well however from my little knowledge of such matters there's a hitch. It has to asume you're starting from roughly the same sort of mix as the reference track did. If your track has different instruments or a different gender vocalist I think the end result would be less than desirable.

Now it seems the program attempts to address this by having a large database of known presets and that should get around the issue to some extent.

But that's just for a music track, a complete soundtrack could be a very different matter.

If it works as advertised it could be good value for money, hardly expensive compared to a lot of audio tools and this one has a lot in it for the money. Of course the bigger question is pretty valid, if it's all this easy why wasn't it done before?

Bob.

I always get the warm fuzzies from posting on this forum.
