Mastering Question DVDA3 and eDVD

nataq wrote on 1/16/2006, 2:54 AM
Hi,
after I have gone through the functions of eDVD, I now wonder how I am going to master a disc that was post-worked in eDVD after being made in DVDA3.

DVDA3 only allows to include one single folder, but eDVD has several more, and it also has the autorun file, that must not be in a folder.

How am I supposed to master that disc. Do I really need to purchase Sonic Rom Formatter?

Thanks for any help,
Wolfgang

DVD Architect allows you to create a standard DVD-Video disc. Additionally DVDA3 does allow the inclusion of extra data directories. If you need more functions than that then you are creating something other than a standard disc, and DVD Architect won't help you. Autorun files are not part of standard DVD-Video discs.

Thanks for your reply.

The DVD is meant to be able to launch a program when inserted in a PC DVD-drive. But play regularely when used in a DVD-Player.

So I guess I need to get the Formatter.

nataq,

You may be interested in this thread as an example on how to add autorun features, whether it be showing an icon or starting software copied to the disk.

You can add an autorun feature to the dvd that will work on a computer by including an autorun .inf file. The dvd will play normally on a set top player.

iirc, the eDVD kit comes with some burning software. Its in a seperate directory and you just need to install it. Alternatively you can burn with something like Nero or CopyToDVD.

thanks you two, I´m well aware of these things.

But: I need to master to a DLT, and an autorun alone unfortunately wouldn´t give me the possiblity to choose an executable file out of a DVD-Menu but eDVD does.

So I think i need this ROM Formatter :-((

Thanks for your help,
