"Match Media" ignores audio sample rate

I use the match media function frequently. Why does it ignore the audio properties of the file? I expect match media settings to change project settings to the sample rate of my media.

Sony documentation states:

"If you did Match Media Settings on footage that had both Audio and video, then it will also select the correct settings on the Audio tab. "

But not apparently if you have no video - audio only ? It may be a hint that it is on the Video tab of Properties.

Also it is of little consequence what format your source audio files in are until render time. Unlike video.

(Sorry , I've only got XP/V10 where I am just now).
