"Match Output Ratio": Got a global command/script?

Hi -

One of the frequent pita's in using V8 is the need to manually click on event pan/crop, then right click on each media clip and choose "match output ratio" to get video clips to match up with the project settings, when they vary (which is almost all the time).

Any suggestions for how to do this with a single click? Or does ultimate s pro or excalibur (or ?) have the ability to do this? I'd like to be able to for example click Ctrl-M or something like that and have everything on my timeline, all gajillion pieces of a-roll/b-roll/stock video footage, have that command applied to it. Would save a ton of time.... ideas?

thx all,

-ken

Excalibur and Ultimate S can both do this. There's also a free script go do it as well. There's a really old version here: http://www.ayizwe.net/VegasScripts/

Vegas really really really badly needs to have "always match output aspect" as an option that can be turned on. (Well, and off too, of course!)

Agree - that should be a toggle, that is available from within Vegas when importing all media, since many times it'll be in slightly different aspect ratios (eg raw avchd clips vs stock video footage etc), vs having to manually correct each clip.
