"Match project settings to video file" only matches VIDEO settings!

I'm new to Vegas Pro 14 and just discovered that "Match Project Settings to Video File" only matches the VIDEO settings - it does not match the audio settings. (File with 44.1kHz audio sample rate set project to 48kHz sample rate)

Is this a bug or just a literal implementation of "match settings of VIDEO file"?

Something to be aware of anyway...

I think it's not a bug but made because many users tend to adopt the audio project properties to the soundcard properties instead.

just discovered that "Match Project Settings to Video File"

Where did you find that option?

When you drag the first video clip into a project Vegas asks if you want to set the project settings to match the video file. When you say "yes" it does indeed match the video settings - but not the audio settings.

If the file audio sample rate and video project audio sample rate do not match Vegas likely does an audio sample rate conversion - which can degrade the audio.

You say it

When you drag the first video clip into a project Vegas asks if you want to set the project settings to match the video file. When you say "yes" it does indeed match the video settings - but not the audio settings.

So nothing to worry about. Video is video and audio is audio. Yoy do not choose with your projectsettings for a specific audio format, that you give in at the export settings for your made project. Can also be without audio or only audio.

Not sure about that. If the audio sample rate of the file you're opening and project audio sample rate do not match Vegas likely does an audio sample rate conversion on import - which can degrade the audio.
