Matrox Captured AVI's don't play

Hello VV users. I recently upgraded to VV 4 from a Premiere / Matrox RT 2000 set up. When I import clips capture as quicktime AVI's in Premiere/RT2000 and try to port them to the timeline I get the circle ban icon and they won't play in either timeline or monitor window...but the WAV files of the same clip do. Help what am I doing wrong. Thanks Ricardo

You're posting your message twice. That's wrong. You're not deleting the one that's too much. That's wrong, too.

Do your clips play in Media Player? If you captured with anything other than a IEEE 1394 card, Matrox will have used a proprietary compression. You will then have to recapture your clips over IEEE 1394.

Is this on a diff. computer?
Try downloading the Matrox codecs for
computers without Matrox hardware
from the Matrox site.

Please excuse the double entry. This is my first post here and the ignore this user function through me. Thanks for your reply. I will check if they play in WMP.
Thanks RS.

FWIW: Have come across captured/encoded matrox avi files that conflicted with other codecs... Changing the fourcc code for the file, reinstalling other codecs, temporarily disabling matrox codec files have all worked depending on the situation. IF the files are mov rather then avi, some prob have been reported if a *complete* install of the latest quicktime isn't done
