Max file size to keep Vegas from crashing?

^^^ I use AVS Video converter, which I bought originally so I could load my Sony HD video camera's native MTS file into Vegas 6.

Turning on DEP for all programs and then explicitly excluding Vegas helped? That's interesting.

The AVS video converter sounds like a good deal.

I tried the DEP switch, but it can't be done on 64-bit programs, apparently. That seems to be in the right direction, though.

If there's anything I can try on this rig that might help you out post it -- & I say that knowing the huge risk: just by saying that, implying no problems at the moment, I'm inviting jinxing myself <sigh>

MPM, thanks for your generous offer. I'm afraid I may be too ignorant to know what to try next, or what to ask for. Maybe that will keep the jinx away, at least. :) I'm open to your suggestions.
