MC MPEG2 DVD strange pixelated blocks

Clyde200 wrote on 7/21/2002, 8:01 AM
Heres the deal... I've been trying to track this down for a couple of weeks (after work/weekends etc).

_Captured vhs tape (60 to 80 mins)-AVI DV with Canopus ADVC-100 (near perfect - no dropped frames).
_Two Tracks in VV3.0c Video & Audio. Video FX - Broadcast color "Clamp" -- Audio FX - iZotope Ozone - small "tweakage".
_Rendered with Main Concept default MPEG2 NTSC DVD.

Up until about two weeks ago this didn't happen... at random points in the resulting file there will be a pixelated, multi-colored block (random sizes - but usually 1/4 to 1/3 of the frame width X 8 to 10 or so lines high). Sometimes there are 3 or 4 of them - sometimes only one. If I go back to the exact frames that are affected and re-render only those frames -- no blocks ! This only seems to happen during long (5 to 10 hour) renders. Bummer !

Any ideas ?
Clyde

Forgot to add ..these 'blocks' will last 1/2 to 1 sec.

Hi,

When are you seeing these blocks -- when playing back on a computer or a TV screen?
Clyde200 wrote on 7/21/2002, 6:42 PM
Both... Computer monitor and TV (DVD). They are there... load the file (MPEG2) back into Vegas and they can be seen also.

PS YooHoo anyone home ?

Well they are still happening... any render over an hour or so. Should I reinstall VV ?
MCTech wrote on 7/27/2002, 5:27 PM
It can't hurt to reinstall VV, however to be honest I don't think that is the answer.

We haven't been able to reproduce the problem yet, but we are still trying.

I could send an example... I'm on 'dial-up' so it would be only a frame or two.

Anything would help, though the longer the better.
