Media FX

I have VV5 and was trying to adjust color balance in a video clip but after selecting color corrector, I could not see any changes in the preview window when I moved the cursor around in the color corrector window. Is there a setting or change in the preview window that has occurred that has caused this to happen. What should I do. I have had no problems before with this function.

Make sure you don't have the EFX Bypass button checked in the Preview window.

It's really stupid, but you have to actually put a clip onto the timeline to see the effect of Media FX. You ought to be able to see the effect while in the trimmer but you can't. Very, very stupid, but then, there's also no indicator to tell you that media has MediaFX applied. I think it's one of several half-baked orphan features in Vegas (which is otherwise a great program)

Thanks for the response. Actually the FxBypass button is checked but I have been unable to uncheck it. My only other choice there is clipboard.
