Installed Vegas6b update. Installed ACID5b update. Now I get a "Red Diagonal" line thru' ALL Media in my Reference Library.
In other Media Libraries Loops are brought back online and can be used, I can audition them AND I can add to them from Explorer. Reference Library is Red Lining!
On one of my computers I struggled with an issue similar to this. The solution was do remove media manager, and the Microsoft Server SQL desktop engine and the Sony Media Loops. Manually remove the directories if they remained behind. Then restart the computer. Try and get rid of everything possible in the system tray -- especially anti virus or anti spyware stuff. Re-install. I got that from a SONY tech and it worked for me.
The red diagonal line in the thumbnail view is the offline indicator. In the other views (grid & list), the text is drawn dimmed.
The loops in the reference library are never online because of the path structure we use. The purpose of the reference library is really for browsing of product content (i.e. what types of loops might be on CD xyz) and retroactive tagging for loop files that are already out in the world, but do not have any extra tagging metadata in them.
However, considering the reference library contains loops (which do not have interesting thumbnails), this doesn't seem like a big loss of functionality. Most of the time we would expect users to view the reference library in the grid or list views.
Mr Forum Admin - thank you! . . Just think I was gonna take the advice from cspvideo and go throw all that! PHEW! and double phew!
Mr F.A. - once again thanks - I realise now what the ref lib means AND that the red line indicates that there is nothing to see oin thumbnail. So I can now see all my 66,000 bits of media in Reference Library.
