Media player with Firewire preview ?

Not sure, but is there a meda player out there like Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime, WinAmp, etc that can output thru firewire ?

Sometimes I just want to line up my renders and watch them on my firewired TV. I can do this in Vegas of course, but it be cool to have a simpler program that I can quickly fire up to watch my clips on TV.

Any ideas ?

the way I've always done this is to output via the composite output jack on my video card plugged into my TV set.

Not about firewire, but on my non-editing machine I have an nVidia card (6600 GT) which is the minimum for their PureVideo technology, which utilizes the GPU for decoding. I use this setup for viewing final output.

One DVI connection to the LCD, the other DVI to DVI--Component cable to my 65" HDTV. nVidia drivers to output video from all players to full screen HDTV.

The player I like to use is Nero Showtime 3, which has the nVidia PureVideo technology built in. v2.0 came with Nero Ultra 7, but they have (had) a free update to 3.0 for download. PureVideo player costs ~$20 I think.

720 30p full rate playback on my P3 1Ghz machine to 65" HD.

I LOVE the nVidea Purevideo decoder. I use it successfully with an older ATI card by the way. With Purevideo I can view 1080i m2t clips with no strain whatsoever on my P4 3.06. Without Purevideo I can't even come close to this.
