I seem to have found a problem when adding a large number of files to the media pool (VF version 2.0c) under Windows XP. I have a project which required about ten different video files (DV) a large audio file and about 200 jpg files ( about 20 minutes in length total). After adding about 150 jpg files I started getting problems loading new ones into the pool. The new files would not appear until VF had been closed down and then restarted. Eventually files could not be added at all. It also took forever for the project to start up - five minutes and more. I have tried the same project on two machines with XP, both running AthlonXPs ( an 1800 and a 1600) both PCs had 256MB of memory and tons of drive space. I have also got an old PC with a P111 450 and running ME. After ages trying to figure out what was wrong I tried the project on the ME machine. It worked perfectly. It loaded in seconds and there was absolutely no problem loading many, many more files into the media pool. I would like to use the XP machines to get better rendering times. I've searched the forum and the knowledge base but cannot find any clues as to fixing this. Does anyone know a way around this???????????????
