menu links - getting resized v3

Scenario: I have ten buttons I wish to place in my scene selection menu. Of course, I want to be aligned properly, same font size, etc., etc.

In v2, I did a rough placement of where I wanted them, highlighted all of the links, clicked on the font I wanted, the text size, and then hit the spacer button and bingo! They were all nicely aligned, the boxes were all the same size - no problems at all.

However, when I try to do this in v3, the boxes come out in odd sizes and they are not properly aligned. I end up having to manually align everything - which is very annoying and time consuming (not to mention it leaves room for error in the alignment).

Is there a solution for doing this with the ease with which I was able to do it in v2?

Thanks,

joe

This was just discussed in this thread:

Text Resizing Problem in DVDA3

It is a problem Sony introduced in version 3 and refused to fix. As noted in the thread, please use the link at the top of this page (Support -> Product Suggestions) to tell Sony of your advice that this "feature" be changed. Also reference this thread and note that it is a different thread than the one started ten days ago.

The text box resize thing is frustrating! There should be an automatic "resize box to content" setting instead of automatically resizing the text... <sigh>

As a work around, I found this...

Set the font size to a target fixed size. Then, using the box width and carriage returns, try to set the box size to accomodate your longest chapter title. Then, resize all other text boxes to match your target.

It still sux but it saves having to resize each box manually. Also, remember copy and paste size when switching between pages. However, you will find that your menu layout will have to be adjusted to accomodate each of the larger text boxes.

Good idea - I've just done as you suggested.
