Given all the gloomy prognostications regarding the future of VP, here's a bit of good news, a Mercalli 4 plug-in that allows batch stabiliztion. Also a plug-in for fixing CMOS distortion. I use the SAL of V4 which is quite impressive, but this should be even better--no more rendering out and importing back.
I installed Mercalli 4 plugin Suite including standalone yesterday. The CmosFixr the standalone is working fine but the Mercalli 4 Vegas plugin is not showing in Vegas.
I didn't go for the trial as I have always had Mercalli 2 plugin and I want it for an important job tomorrow I contacted proDad but so far no reply.
Any ideas why it is not installed into Vegas, it is showing in Windows programmes.
I've had Mercalli 3 SAL since its release - it was great.
I've had Mercalli 4 SAL since its release late last year - it is outstanding.
I upgraded to the SVP plug-in version the other day ($US79-20 on ProDad's website), but I'm not impressed at all. The couple of attempts I have made withf the stabiliser plug-in within VP13 resulted in vertical judder and ended up with an image worse than the original. Using M4 SAL with the same clip and with exactly the same stabilisation settings was completely and brilliantly successful.
Another thing, the 15 minutes video on ProDad's website fairly well explains the CMOS correction process with the VP CMOS plug-in, and says they'll be back after the rendering process, but fails to say how to render the CMOS correction. I haven't found a button so far in the CMOS plug-in that says 'activate' or the like, and the on-line manual also fails to mention how to finalise the CMOS process in VP - do I smart render or render to another track in VP - I have no idea. Or is there a hidden button in the plug-in which isn't all that obvious?
IMO, the VP plug-in does not equal the SAL version.
I got an email from proDAD suggesting I update Windows and reinstall the plugin. Win-7 was already updated but I did an uninstall and reinstalled of the plugin and got the same result. I replied to the email with my results and a few minutes later got a link to a new version of the Vegas plugin. The second version worked perfectly for me.
