Mercalli SAL V4 still screws up 60i wrapped 30p!

I finally got around to trying the new Mercalli SAL V4. Unfortunately for me and my GH4 30p wrapped as 60i footage, it is still a no-go. Mercalli SAL V4 treats the AVCHD mode footage (which is 30p wrapped as 60i) as 60i and introduces interlace artifacts into the stabilized footage.

So why don't I use the higher bitrate GH4 MOV format which does 30p wrapped as 30p you might ask? Because Vegas stretches the levels of this mov footage from 16-235 to 0-255 and clips anything below 16 or above 235 in the process.

I have had numerous email conversations with their designer in Germany, but so long as I'm the only one noticing or complaining about this, the problem will stay.

Anyway, aside from this major faux pas, Mercalli SAL V4 looks really good. I really do wish I could use it. If I was using a format other than AVCHD I would be. I'm sure a lot of other users are having this problem as well, but so long as they don't notice and the guys in Germany don't believe one sole complainer, they simply aren't going to fix it.

Personally, I would rather have the lessor features of their earlier product than lose half my vertical resolution, but evidently the majority of users of the AVCHD format haven't looked that carefully at their renders.
