Merging Files

In Movie Studio 12 Platinum, is there any way to merge several .vf files into one? In other words, I'm in one file and I would like to insert another file and append it to the existing. Or would I have to create a movie of each, which I know can then be imported. The Import Media screen sees wmf, avi, etc. files, but not vf files. Looks like this might be a lot of work.

Drag additional files to the timeline or open via the menu.

I think this can be done only in he Pro version.

What you can do in the Studio version, and I do this a lot, is to open two instances of MSP. Open one of your projects into one and another into the other. Determine which instance of MSP will be your master (ie the one you want all your projects merged into), select all your media events in the other (slave) and press Ctrl C. Go to your master project and place your cursor at the point where you want the media to be inserted (ensure full ripple is on if you are inserting, but it's simpler if you are appending the media) and press Ctrl V. Close your slave project and open the next project to merge. Repeat as often as necessary.
NOTE that copying media events will not copy track events (volume envelopes, track FX, etc).
It's a bit fiddly but worth it in the absence of any other, easier way.

Sorry I didn't read the first post correctly. Project nesting is only available in Vegas Pro.
Copying events from multiple instances of Movie Studio is easy, as detailed just above.

Thanks guys. The first response threw me for a loop. But it has certainly been cleared up. I don't think I will do this often, if ever again. But I have done some work in a few separate projects that I'd like to see all in one. This time. From now on, I'll try to do it the right way.
