Merging mpeg2 & avi on timeline?

I create Virtual Video Web Tours for real estate agents. At the begining of
each video tour I start with a graphic of the agent, their company logo,
name and moving clouds looping as the background. As you can see
there are 4 layers to this clip. I would like to render the clip to mpeg2
and just insert this clip at the begining of each tour I do for this agent.

Should I do this? Is the quality bad when I re-render the video to mpeg2?

Regards,

Alex

Render it to DV .avi instead. This is nearly lossless, will hold up to additional re-renders very well for many generations, and will be much faster to work with. MPEG should only be used for the last and final render.
