Merging two 'split' pieces together to extend fade-out (Platinum 16)

Using MS Platinum 16 on a PC...
How can I merge two pieces on a single track (remove the split between them) so I can extend my fade-out at the end?

If they are separate events you cannot, other than by rendering them to a new clip and using that. But if they are from the same original event you can "Event Heal" them.

Or use Track envelope "Composite Level" with keyframes to achieve your fade out. This is what I'd use.
