...and Merry Christmas from the Yule Log Channel (Ch. 9 in L.A.).

This got the highest viewer rating last year, this year it's in 1920x1080 HD and it looks incredible!

My only disappointment is that instead of just offering a 7.1 surround sound audio track with crackling embers, they had pesky modern Xmas songs. Not the same imho. No problem, I switched the input to iTunes and a Christmas choir.

..and an interesting sidenote in this morning's paper:

135 leading Moslems had sent a greeting of peace to all Christians, in Arabic, English, and Latin:
Salaam Aleikum, Peace Be To You, Pax Vobiscum

They talked about how God had not let Abraham sacrifice his son, and how this led to the founding of the three Religions of the Book: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

I feel sorry for Moslems when they are described as believing in "Allah," when that is in fact just the Arabic word for the same God as in Christianity, by written definition no less.

I know Christmas is past, but I just recovered from a pre-Christmas computer glitch where one of my internal video drives failed and prevented the machine from loading Windows. Simple problem, but took a while for me to realize that was the problem. (No backup for the failed drive, but the projects can be rebuilt)

Guess I'll have to spend some after Christmas cash on a RAID 1 setup.

Anyhow - hope everyone had a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

'Nuther belated Christmas greeting , from south of Houston but not quite in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is the last year I promise a client their video "by Christmas Eve" and then bust tail to make it happen. The whole balance-between-work-and-family thing.

But no matter, we had a great holiday, spent it with my dad who is 81 years old, and had a great time w/o spending an unnecessary amount of money.

This is still my favorite forum on the 'net. Here's to a prosperous 2008.
