Metallic echo on ASF

I have a 370 MB AVI which I have converted to an ASF format
file. The ASF plays fine through Windows Media player
locally, but from a Streaming Server to a Web page the
sound has a metallic echo.

Any ideas how to get rid of the tinny echo?

Some source material doesn't compress well at certain
settings. Try one of the better wmv7 templates- Windows
Media7 audio compression is much better than the older asf
compression.

This has to be playable on NT 4.0 which only handles WM
6.4. Will using a WM 7 template pose a problem for that?

WM7 does not work on NT. Your best bet is to experiemnt
with short test renders to asf. Higher quality audio
settings (assuming you are happy with video quality) can
improve the sound without significantly increasing the
rendered file's final size.
