Metronome and zoom bugs.

It appears the infamous zoom bug has been fixed. At least I haven't seen it.

But the metronome still works pretty lousy. Everytime I switch projects I have to go into the menu system and make some sort of change (any parameter will do) and then apply it.
That's the only way I can get the project to return to its metronome setting. Its pretty annoying. Isn't there any way to put a shortcut in the actual metronome icon on the tool bar to access and change these settings?

Especially with better support of Acid type loops, you'd think the metronome should read the click setting in the project when it opens.

YES!! Absolutely! I can't believe how much wasted time I spend with the metronome functioning in Vegas! There should be a mute button available in the toolbar as well.

Speaking of metronome issues, is there a way to set the metronome volume in V5? I couldn't seem to find a preference setting for this anywhere in V3 or V4.

Forgot about mentioning that one. Yes, the metronome should have volume control and buss routing capabilities.

The Preview Fader controls the volume of the metronome.

If you add the metronome button to the toolbar you can turn it on and off at will (mute).

Thanks MJ! I'm learning something new everyday! Now if we can get the metronome to route to other busses . . . ;-D

Well after reading this thread, I've just been experimenting with the metronome in Vegas 3 & 4. I have a Layla 24 card. In Vegas 3, I can route the preview fader to any of the busses and it works perfectly. However, in Vegas 4, if I route to any buss other than 1/2 (analog or digital) the metronome goes into a stutter sound (like a drum roll). The project plays fine, but but the metronome locks in a stutter (although it does route correctly to whatever buss I've assigned it to). Anyone experienced this? Does Vegas 5 do this?

Thanks,

Seperate volume I could see, but bus routing? Why?

I don't repro this problem with Vegas 5. Will take a look at Vegas 4 - not installed on my "clean machine" right now.

I use an analog board routing 8 busses from Vegas giving me 16 analog inputs to my console. I'd prefer to route the metronome to a buss that I typically am not using during tracking (choosing in the Layla console something like digital 7/8) which would be inputs 15/16 on my console. This way I don't have to alter the habitual workflow I've developed over the years. Anyway, it makes sense to me. ;-)

Peter-
Bus routing for the metronome is often used for providing separately adjutable click signal (levels and mute control for example) to various performers' headphone mixes and the control room mix. You could, for example, provide plenty of click to the drummer and a lesser amount to a violin player while allowing the engineer to mute/unmute the click in the control room.
Cheers,

Great application and reason for allowing this.

On the list of things to consider for the future.

Thanks,
