microphone

I posted some time ago asking about microphones. The Rode Videomic was recommended. I then read reports about a stereo version of the Videomic that was suppose to be out in February. It still isn't available (as far as I know). I need to have one for May for my son's jazz concerts. I thought I'd try a cheaper mic for now. Has anyone tried the Sony ECM-MS908C or the ECM-MSD1? There's not much available in my area.

RODE have had the NT4 (fixed stereo XY) for some time now.Not natively camera-mountable, but that's usually a Good Thing.

$400+ is too much right now, but thanks for the suggestion. Maybe there's a place to rent a mic just for now for the concerts (he has 3 solos I don't want to miss) so I have more time when I purchase one.
