Microphone balance

I would like to have my voice recording coming out on both tracks, (mono split in other words ), but can't adjust the microphone balance button. It is greyed.
All the other devices Wave, SW Synth, Cd player, Aux, Video, etc are OK in green and their slider is available, but not for the mike. The microphone is a Labtec AM -242.
The sound card is a SoundMax digital audio.
Any suggestions....

Are you sure that the mic input isn't mono? Most mic inputs are. You could record a new mono file, then convert it to stereo. There are also several options under Process / channel converter to copy data from one channel to the other.
