The truth of the matter, as in most things, is that consumers get victimized only because the perpetrators KNOW consumers will never get their collective asses together enuff to say "bastante", enough, I'm not gonna take it anymore. People roll over dead and accept, even with gratitude whatever crap they're handed. I know you'll never understand this, so we will all just put up with whatever the bimbos in the marketing department offer up. Well, I, for one, have had it!! I don't have to keep my mouth shut and act like a greatful little wretch...more porridge please...I don't think so!! The really sick and discouraging thing is...this is what most consumers want...more eye candy....no substance.
I've been in the industry a long time. I remember your exact statement echoed by many others ..... when Windows replaced DOS. I, for one, would not want to go back to the DOS command prompt even though it was a very fast and efficient operating system. I suspect, at some future point in time, you'll be lamenting the end of the 2 dimensional work station while the rest of
us are editing in 3D space.
I hate to say it, cuz i do LOVE the latest and greatest...
but... when it comes to Windows... well.. put it this way... I still use Windows 98 and Vegas 3.0c on one of my machines.
Of course, i simply HAD to upgrade to Windows XP on my "main" editing machine.....( the 4 gig file size limit with win 98 2nd edition obviously became too inhibiting) BUT.. seriously.. my 800mghz PIII processor and Vegas 3.0 still work just jim-dandy
Anyone remember Win ME?... exactley... if my experience with Windows means anything, Windows "VISTA" should finally be a "stable" os around the time MS releases Windows "2010"
