MIDI import to Vegas?

Can't seem to get Vegas to react to a USB MIDI connection. I found the MIDI section but it doesn't react to the Input

Did you enable external control in the Options menu ?

yes and we are now trying to get it through the game port on the sound card but it doesn't drive the KORG D16 as it should - supossidly the REC in Vegas should open the MIDI file?

Vegas doesn't record midi data. Vegas can only send and receive midi time code. It can also respond to a midi controler for controling faders and pans, etc, to be used as an external hardware controler. It is not a midi sequencer program.
