Midi routing

PipelineAudio wrote on 12/28/2000, 11:42 AM
I need a midi patchbay program for win2k...I tried ox and
yoke, and hubis wont run on win2k, Im looking for a program
that can split midi and alows you to assign which port goes
to which other port(s)

any ideas?

this is gonna be a big deal as most software (hopefully)
begins to support midi hardware to control automation..

if there is not a program, then can anyone here code?

Hi AAron,
I'm personally using the midiman usb port with w2k driver.
Only 2 in 2 out but seems to run ok. I'm only using it to
control a CM Motormix console I have for another audio
program, so I can't tell you about how it's running in w2k
using other midi capabilities. I do hear good things about
the new steinberg product "Midex 8" being used in W2k, for
sequencing , timing , and machine control, might be worth a
look on their site.

to save my yamaha promix faders movements

I need a good app to save automatyion in...trying cakewalk
but kinda not right

I'm using mtc out of Nuendo (oops!) to drive my cm motormix.
However, I gotta say, N. 's capability in terms of saving
mixer automation fx etc. is the best I've seen.

Now what I don't get is, how do you translate the Vegas
mixer (?) interface to something like a yamaha or roland or
cm motormix? And, make it really useful?

Don't feel too bad, George. Yes, it is true that Nuendo and
Vegas are not in the same league when it comes to
PROFESSIONAL features. Nuendo is the real thing. But in all
fairness, Vegas is an application with GREAT potential,
abandoned and rendered obsolete by a greedy and stupid
company crazy to make money with "internet based" solutions.
The fact is Sordid Fraudy ain't Macromedia...

They are so inept, they sent me an e-mail trying to make
peace!!!!! That explains why my posts haven't been deleted.
Sorry, no peace here.
Only way to "reconcile" is by Sordid Fraudy showing some
respect to musicians and loyal users. Stop ignoring
legitimate questions, admit to the software shortcomings
(nothing is perfect!) and INVEST in further developing the
product, adding new features and making it compatible with
the outside world...

That's the only way to silence old "Bad" Vic.

Think you're right Aaron, can't be done yet. One
suggestion I would make in terms of implementing automation
features, ...new interface...in addition to existing. This
one would basically reflect mixer fader button
capabilities. We could then connect all the functions of
this new thing into our physical mixers.
I think!
