Minor bugs (or annoyances)

malowz wrote on 9/4/2012, 9:40 AM
in v11, some controls (mainly color corrector and color corrector secondary) double clicking on the slider makes them go to the default value, but the default values are wrong, like double clicking saturation slider, goes to 1.500 (instead of 1.000) gain goes to 1.050, etc.

the "parameter" tab works correctly, but the "custom" tab don't.

also, can't do a small increment adjustments with the keyboard in the openfx plugins interfaces (1.001, 1.002..) only "10 jumps" with the "control hold

also, would be nice if the default tab of this plugins to be the old one, the openfx interface is less visually better than the old one (try to adjust "color corrector secondary" chrominance value in a slider)

any other minor "enhancements"?

I too noted these minor annoyances and put it down to being left handed with mouse buttons swapped. Compared with the rest of VP11 problems these are trivial.
It does however illustrate the poor standard of beta testing applied to a new release.

Often wondered how long it would take to test every possible function and combination in Vegas? It must number into the trillions.

In 11, did they fix the problem of the invisible marquee when using the eye dropper in the Color Corrector etc.? It was invisible in 10, and possibly 9.

@Nick

No. Probably waiting for version 12 or 13 by when it can be listed as a new feature. (Maybe they should skip the number 13 and just go to 14).

The first issue in malowz' post still exists in VP15 build 177 (as well as VP12, 13 & 14). i.e. Double-clicking the sliders of several settings in the Color Corrector and Color Corrector (Secondary) FX "Custom" view gives incorrect values. Specifically:

Saturation moves to 1.5000 but should be 1.000
Gain moves to 1.050 but should be 1.000
Rotate Hue moves to 180.0 but should be 0.0
Alpha moves to 0.500 but should be 1.000

Limit Luminance:
Low moves to 127.5 but should be 0.0
High moves to 127.5 but should be 255.0
Smooth moves to 127.5 but should be 0.0

Limit Saturation:
Low moves to 81.0 but should be 0.0
High moves to 81.0 but should be 162.0
Smooth moves to 81.0 but should be 0.0

Limit Hue:
High moves to 180.0 but should be 360.0
Smooth moves to 90.0 but should be 0.0

Double-clicking the sliders in the "Parameters" (OFX) gives the correct result, but I much prefer the older "Custom" views, which are better laid out.

If there are any other FX that have both "Parameters" and "Custom" interfaces then I guess they may be affected too.

Also, the script icons still disappear in v15. a simple way to force this problem to show up, is to disconnect a monitor cable (if you have 2 monitors). all script icons on the toolbar go away. 6 or 7 versions of vegas, same old problem never solved.

According to this thread, that may be a slightly different problem in VP14/15. Sounds like it might finally get some attention soon.

I received a reply on this issue from Support that included this:

"This is a known issue which will be resolved in a future application update. Thank you for reporting this issue."

VEGAS Pro 16 Update 2 (build 307) fixes the issue whereby double-clicking the sliders of several settings in the Color Corrector and Color Corrector (Secondary) FX "Custom" view gives incorrect values.
