Okay, this is going to be very vague, but there is some kind of event FX that is maybe called "Waves" or something? (I'm not at a computer with VMS installed.)
Anyway, it distorts the video with wavy motion. I think you can select how many wavelengths, amplitude, repetition, etc.
If you just have one keyframe, you would get a static distortion of the video. So set multiple keyframes -- one with 3 wavelengths, one with 5, one with 4, etc., -- and you'll get various changing, wavy things going on.
Thanks Tim. It wasn't that vague! :) As a matter of fact, with a little tweeking, it is going to work out pretty good. Still working on it, but going to copy the event to the above track, use the rectangular cookie cutter, wave FX on the bottom, and presto magic.....a mirage! Thanks for all your help. Cin
