Missing audio from BlackMagicDesign's UltraStudio Pro YUV clips...

david-jester wrote on 9/8/2016, 10:19 PM

When load a clip from BlackMagicDesign's UltraStudio Pro YUV clips, The audio is Missing.
I know it was encoded with the clip because it plays fine in V.L.C. player...
Does anyone know where to find the BM audio codecs and how to install them in my Vegas Pro 13...

Or is there an update that will fix this bug...???
Thank you for sharing your experience.

To install any blackmagic codecs, you have to install their desktop software.

I have "Blackmagic_Desktop_Video_Windows_10.4.3" and "Blackmagic_Converters_Windows_5.0" and "Blackmagic_HyperDeck_Windows_4.4.2" installed...
I could install the ATEM software also, because I have a 4k Production Studio...
I encoded these streams with a BM UltraStudio Pro encoder  I've had quite a few years..

Hello Nick,

Thank you for contacting me…

I have been a loyal Vegas Pro user since Vegas 6…
I’ve been producing for 38 years…

I installed MediaInfo, however I can’t “highlight copy paste” the text..

The “First Audio Stream” is a PCM:
2 304 kb/s,, 48.0kHz, 24 bits, 2 Channels, PCM (little / signed)

ID                                       : 1

Format                                   : PCM

Format settings, Endianness              : Little

Format settings, Sign                    : Signed

Codec ID                                 : 00001000-0000-0100-8000-00AA00389B71

Duration                                 : 46 min 52 s

Bit rate mode                            : Constant

Bit rate                                 : 2 304 kb/s

Channel(s)                               : 2 channels

Sampling rate                            : 48.0 kHz

Bit depth                                : 24 bits

Stream size                              : 772 MiB (1%)

Alignment                                : Aligned on interleaves

Interleave, duration                     : 1034  ms (31.00 video frames)

Properties” in windows 10 says:
Video Data rate  69148kbpzs

Audio:

2304 kbps

Sample rate 48oo

Somewhere it seems that I got an error message that said that the

BlackMagic codec was a PCMle  or something like that…

Thank you for helping me…

In MediaInfo if you choose the "text" format for display it is easy to copy the text and paste here.

From the portion you have listed it looks like the audio is in Wave format extensible format. I have read audio in this format into Vegas in WAV files but maybe there is an issue with that if it is in some video container(s). The full MediaInfo report will list what the video container is.

Is the media in an AVI container? I think it might be given the "interleave, duration" report item listed.

I have the same problem withe the Intensity Pro 4K. I help me with xmedia Recode ( http://www.xmedia-recode.de/ ) and transform the Wave to 16Bit

NormanPCN wrote on 9/9/2016, 6:08 PM

That is a good point. With AVI files Vegas will use Video for Windows to read the media and VfW may not support 24-bit audio.

I need a program to rip the audio from the video...
