0X80 errors are from the .net framework. Check your Windows Update to see if any .net updates are missing. Dot-net versions are not cumulative. That is, Version four does not supersede Versions one, two and three. In other words, if your program needs something from Version 2, then you need Version two installed.

i did microsoft update on dot net and it still didn't work. i wonder if dot net 4 includes all the other dot nets (2, 3, 3.5) with it or they all work seperate. i'm confused can somebody explain this dot net thing please thank you very much.

Think of dot-net as DLL's in the cloud.
When a programmer uses a function that is in dot-net version 2, then you need .net version two installed. Even if you already have version three or four installed. The versions are not cumulative. However, the needed dot-net versions are supposed to be installed by the program installations that need them.

If you remove a dot-net version using the control panel, then you need to replace it with the same version using Windows Update, or reinstall the program that installed the .net version that it needs. Running the program that needs a .net feature in a .net version that has been deleted or corrupted will trigger an 0x80 error.

i tried installing .net 2.0 and it didnt work. it asked me to turn windows feature on and off and that's what i did i turned .net feature on and it still didn't work. so i have .net 4.0 version and i can't install 2.0. so what are my other options?

i had all .nets on my system the problem was in my sv11 instalation disc. i tryed dowloading updates from sony but it was giving me some kind of error. so i just uninstalled sv11 and dvda and went on sony website and downloaded sv11 and dvda directly and i used my serial numbers that came with my purchased sv11 and it worked. i'm burning second bd with title selection and no problems. there must have been a some kind of a bug on that instalation cd. i hope this can solve other peoples problem and steve mann thank you for .net explanation.
