Missing Files question

If you remove a file from Windows Explorer that was associated with a Vegas project, everytime you open the project Vegas asks to locate the files.

Is there a way to make it ignore the "missing" file so upon the next opening of the project it doesn't ask for them?

Locate the file reference in the Media Pool and delete it there too.
