I have a few mepg files I open up in Vegas and when I place them on the time line, the video is shorter than the audio even though when I play them back as a file in media player, it plays fine. What happens is part of the video stream is cut off. Is there anything that causes this and is there a way to fix this?
Encountered the same problem when I added a DV file to the timeline. All of the audio is there but not all of the video. This is driving me nuts. Please help.
Is all the video there, just a different length in the timeline? If it is cut off, what happens if you try to drag the end of the video clip to the right - does the missing stuff appear or does it start to loop?
Be specific. How much shorter? Less than a frame? That's typical; media files store an integral number of frames, and an integral number of audio samples. Rarely to they line up, and are often off by as much as a frame period.

Sorry, let me explain. I have an mpeg file that is 5 minutes in length. I drag it to the timeline and I have 5 minutes of audio. However, the video is 3 minutes and when I drag the video to the right, all it does is loop.
