Mixdowns and renders are glitchy in V4

pvnuk wrote on 2/27/2003, 5:04 PM
When doing any mix downs with multiple tracks, cross fades and or time stretched audio my rendered file has TONS of digital clicks, pops and artifacts.

This never happened in Vegas Video 3.0

What has changed?

Will this be fixed and addressed immediately?
I have seen others with the same instance.

I develop loop and sound libraries for a living (two of them for Sonic Foundry so far) and I have lost a fair amount of time having to try and re-mix and re-do these tracks.

Help,

Paul

(PS I also posted this on the Vegas Audio forum as I am not sure which one gets more traffic)

A few people have reported similar problems and fixing this is a top priority for the first V4 update. Please post your system specs here, including soundcard and project settings.

I am seeing this problem also, with my demo version of Vegas4.0. The audio is completely destroyed during a video transition, in the output rendered file (either as a DV file, with either Canopus DVRaptor codec or MS DV codec, and also as a Windows WAV file). Interestingly, the live preview plays just fine- no hint of any audio problem playing back from the timeline preview, so it doesn't appear related to my sound hardware (Echo Audio MIA card). The rendered AVI or WAV file is simply written to disk so I think the error must be entirely within the Vegas application. I'm running Windows 2000 on an Athlon 1.5G. The audio is fine before the transition, but becomes a jagged triangle wave during the transition.
