Mixing Vegas Channel Audio

Here is my dilemma...

When I shoot a wedding speech, I end up with 2 channels of audio.

The left channel is the audio from the camera mic, so it picks up the applause and general ambience.

The right channel is the feed from a wireless mic so it picks up the speaking very clearly.

Up to now I just use the right channel, basically the person speaking. However it's very dry and it doesn't pick up the applause etc.

Is there any way to do the following...

1) Mix the two channels so that most of the resultant audio is from the right (the speaking) channel (e.g. 85%) and the other 15% is from the camera mic.

2) I would want it balanced so that the same audio is coming out of left and right in result.

Can this be done within Vegas or do I need to export the audio to a 3rd party app.

Thanks

One of a few options:
Copy/paste the event to another track.
On one of the tracks, right-click the event and select "Channels"; choose Left.
On the other, do the same, except choose Right. This gives you two mono tracks.
Mix to your liking

rraud's method is exactly how I do it.

I sometimes add a slight (10ms) delay and stereo simulation to the ambient sound track to give it depth.

You may find that you need less of the dry (wireless) track in the final mix than you would think. Sometimes a bit of compression makes it sound more natural in the final mix.

With some careful testing and a bit of trial and error, you can get some very pleasing, professional sounding mixes using the mic scheme you employed.
