MJPEG in Vegas?

Hey all,

I tried to view a video encoded with the venerable Pinnacle Studio MJPEG card. I'm running under XP and the card isn't supported, so I installed the MJPEG drivers from MainActor. I was able to view only the audio in Vegas for these clips.

However, the cheesy editor that Microsoft provides with XP was able to read the files completely? What gives? Why is the Windows Movie Editor providing more capability than Vegas here?

Any one else gotten this process to work?

Thanks,

David

Vegas requires a VFW MJPEG codec to read your files and those are not installed by Vegas or Windows...so that explains it. If MainConcept isn't working, try Morganmultimedia.com. In any case once you have a VFW MJPEG codec, all should be cool.

David,
Let me know how this works for you. I have been scared away because of the Studio/XP "issues" so have I stayed on 98SE using 1.06 drivers, and this combination works very well with VV. When I know it all will work I will upgrade my OS>

Another possibility is the PicVideo MJPEG codec.
